Before any camera or mobile telephone is switched on, everyone appearing in the recording should understand precisely what has been proposed.

The discussion should establish:

• what will be filmed;
• who will appear in the recording;
• whether video, photographs or audio are permitted;
• which device will be used;
• who will operate and control the device;
• whether voices or identifying features must be concealed;
• who may view or retain the footage;
• when and how it will be deleted; and
• whether sharing or publication is strictly prohibited.

Consent should be specific to the agreed recording and may be withdrawn at any point. Permission to create a private video does not include permission to upload, send, copy, sell or show it to another person.

Taking or recording an intimate image without consent and sharing an intimate image without consent may constitute criminal offences in England and Wales.

Privacy and the Limitations of a Mask

A mask can conceal the face, but it cannot guarantee complete anonymity. Someone may still be identified through:

• their voice;
• tattoos or birthmarks;
• jewellery;
• hairstyle or body features;
• clothing;
• the room or surrounding location;
• reflections in mirrors or windows; or
• personal belongings visible within the frame.

The filming area should be checked carefully before recording begins. Documents, hotel details, computer screens, photographs and anything revealing personal information should remain outside the camera view.

Audio may also reveal names, accents, locations or other identifying information. Where anonymity is important, both adults should decide whether the recording should remain silent.

Ownership, Storage and Deletion

Both adults should agree in advance who will control the footage. Some companions may require the recording to remain on their own device, while others may only agree when the footage is watched together and deleted immediately.

The agreement should address:

• whether the file can leave the original device;
• whether automatic cloud backup must be disabled;
• whether additional copies are prohibited;
• whether editing is permitted;
• whether screenshots or still images may be created;
• the agreed retention period; and
• how deletion will be confirmed.

Deleting a file from the visible gallery may not remove copies stored in cloud services, recently deleted folders, messaging applications or device backups. These settings should be checked before filming.

Safewords and Clear Stop Signals

Filming can sometimes make people feel pressure to continue for the benefit of the camera. Neither person should feel expected to carry on because recording has begun or because the additional charge has been agreed.

A simple system may be established:

Green means the filming and interaction feel comfortable.

Amber means pause, adjust the position or discuss a concern.

Red means stop the recording and the interaction immediately.

Ordinary words such as “pause,” “camera off” or “stop” are equally valid. A non-verbal signal may also be agreed where speaking could become difficult.

Once consent is withdrawn, recording must stop immediately. Consent to one activity does not automatically include consent to another, and consent can be withdrawn during an encounter.

Trust and Emotional Wellbeing

Being filmed can feel exciting, empowering or playful, but it may also create vulnerability. A person may feel comfortable during the experience and become anxious afterwards when considering where the footage could eventually appear.

From a sexual-wellbeing perspective, genuine consent requires more than obtaining a quick verbal agreement. Both people should have enough information and time to understand the possible consequences of creating a permanent digital record.

No one should be pressured to reveal their face, remove the mask, repeat an interaction for the camera or agree to wider use of the footage. A person may consent to filming only while particular conditions remain in place.

Masks, Visibility and Physical Comfort

The selected mask should be clean, comfortable and appropriate for the intended length of the recording. It should not interfere with breathing, balance or the ability to communicate.

Reduced vision may affect movement and awareness of the surroundings. The filming area should therefore be uncluttered and free from objects that could cause falls or accidental injury.

Where the mask becomes uncomfortable, restricts breathing or causes anxiety, the filming should pause so it can be adjusted or removed.

The £100 Additional Charge

The £100 filming-with-a-mask supplement is charged in addition to the selected companion’s standard appointment rate.

The complete cost may include:

• the companion’s usual rate;
• the £100 filming supplement;
• the chosen appointment duration;
• the London location;
• travel expenses; and
• any other arrangements confirmed beforehand.

Payment of the supplement does not purchase ownership of the footage, publication rights or unrestricted permission to record. These matters must be discussed and agreed separately.
